WASHINGTON, D.C. -- °ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÖ· first polled Americans about the environment in 1964, asking if they were aware of the problem of air pollution or smog -- and 76% said they were.

°ÄÃÅÁùºÏ²Ê¹Ù·½ÍøÖ·'s investigation of American attitudes on the environment soon expanded, and today includes an annual survey devoted to the topic.
